Why I'm Running

Eric is deeply rooted in the Chino Valley community and is a father of four children who attend CVUSD schools. Raising his family with his wife in Chino, Eric’s passion for public education is seen through his commitment to the success of ALL students.

I am running for Chino Valley Unified School Board in Trustee Area 1 because I want to return CVUSD to a thriving school district that leads by example, innovation, and best practices. I want to see CVUSD shape the future of education, fostering a safe, inclusive, supportive, and high quality education for our most valuable community members – our students.

CVUSD has been responsible for educating students and partnering with parents and caregivers in Chino Valley’s public schools for over 160 years. It has been integral to creating the amazing community we all call home. Serving on the board is a responsibility that must be taken with the utmost care, thoughtfulness, and strategic leadership to best prepare the next generation of students with the necessary knowledge and tools to successfully transition to young adulthood – young people ready to take on the challenges of an evolving workforce and higher education.

Eric’s priorities center on bringing good governance to the board, where meetings are productive, professional and allow for important topics regarding our student’s education, social emotional wellbeing and physical safety to be addressed. It is important to Eric that the incredible teachers in CVUSD are well-supported in order to give their best each day in their classrooms. Eric is excited to partner with parents and teachers and get to work to to improve special education services, racial disparities and ensure our schools are safe, supportive and inclusive to all students.

To achieve this vision, I need your help. FIRST, educate yourself on the current state of CVUSD and evaluate if the highly political and divisive direction current leadership is pushing us in is beneficial to all children and families. In today’s society, it can be difficult to work with viewpoints different from our own, but in a public school district, it becomes a necessity. If done well, it will be our strength.

SECOND, get to know me and the members of our community who are working hard to spread the word about what we’re trying to do. I am a dad and non-profit director who wants to see our kids thrive.

And finally, VOTE for me in November! I need your VOTE to refocus and re-energize our school board and community on the things that will truly benefit all students and make CVUSD a leader in public education.
